The invention of Sign Language has allowed deaf and hearing-impaired people to communicate bringing people and cultures closer together. Most people think that sign language is a universal language, but actually there are differences between sign languages used in different countries and regions. For instance, the British Sign Language (BSL) is different from ASL. American Sign Language (ASL) is an intricate language that uses signs made by hand gestures, and involves facial expressions and movements of the body to convey meaning. It is one of the main communication modes used for people who are deaf or hard-of-hearing. In the U.S., April 15 is marked as a day of observance for ASL because the first deaf school was opened on that day in the year 1817.
For over 31 years, AML-Global has provided high quality language services which include ASL interpreting. Our ASL interpreters are certified and highly qualified. ASL interpreters are required to work in pair for all assignments longer than 1 hour. The reason for this is that it is very hard on the interpreters hands and wrists so the interpreters rotate every 15 ‘ 20 minutes. We are capable of meeting your interpreting needs whether you need legal interpreting, medical interpreting, education interpreting, convention interpreting, business meeting interpreting, or contract negotiation interpreting to name a few.
