National Autism Observance Day

World Autism Awareness Day is celebrating its 8th annual celebration. The eighth annual World Autism Awareness Day is April 2. Every year, autism organizations around the world celebrate the day with unique fundraising and awareness-raising events. Autism is a growing phenomenon worldwide and autism awareness is arising every year as well as solutions how to work with individuals who have autism. Autism can range from very mild; someone may not even recognize that the person has autism, through very severe cases where autistic people do not speak at all.

Every year many types of companies and corporations, and non-profits get involved in the autistic community. This is particularly true in the entertainment industry. Indeed, as most people know, Hollywood is the world’s capital of entertainment; however around the world there are major entertainment hubs in Mexico, France, England, China, and India to name some. This important industry has a big role in our business and American Language Services has worked with many big entertainment firms throughout the years such as Sony Entertainment, Fox Sports, Disney, Warner Bros, and many others.

In April, we completed a job for Boardwalk Pictures. Located in Santa Monica, this company has produced a variety of projects across multiple platforms working with over 20 different cable and broadcast networks, as well as some of the biggest names in sports, music and entertainment. For this ongoing project, we have delivered many hours of transcriptions in a host of language combinations such as German to English, French to English, Russian to English, Spanish to English as well as others.

Another project that was completed in April was for Pixel Corps. We delivered burned in subtitles in many languages including Italian, Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese and European French. We also worked with Entravision.’ Entravision Communications Corporation is a leading media company that reaches and engages U.S. Latinos across acculturation levels and media channels, as well as consumers in Mexico. We provided them with three different Spanish interpreters as well as an on-site technician for the interpreting equipment they rented in the framework of an event.

The media and entertainment industry is growing fast ‘ from physical distribution to digital content ‘ and the need for multi-lingual services is at the forefront of creating international products and strengthening relationships with a range of markets. It is imperative that each of these entertainment companies is able to communicate in both English and a variety of target markets. This allows them to expand their global reach and increase the bottom line sales.
