Interpreting is the process of orally translating spoken or signed language from one language to another in real time. Interpreters play a vital role in facilitating communication between people who do not share a common language. They work in various settings, such as conferences, meetings, courtrooms, hospitals, and international events, to ensure effective communication between individuals or groups who speak different languages. Interpreters must possess excellent language skills in both the source language (the language being spoken by the original speaker) and the target language (the language to which the message is being translated). They need to have a deep understanding of the cultural nuances and idiomatic expressions of both languages to convey the intended meaning accurately.
These jobs can be done in three different ways, which are OPI (over-the-phone), VRI (video-remote-interpreting), and On-site (face-to-face-interpreting).

Interpreting can take different forms, including simultaneous interpreting, consecutive interpreting, and whispered interpreting. Simultaneous interpreting involves interpreting the speaker’s words in real time while they are speaking, usually using specialized equipment such as headphones and microphones. Consecutive interpreting involves the interpreter listening to the speaker and then conveying the message in the target language after the speaker has finished speaking. Whispered interpreting is a form of simultaneous interpreting where the interpreter whispers the translation to a small audience without the use of specialized equipment.
