Interesting Interpreting & Translation Projects Completed in February

An interesting interpreting project was finalized for Woodland Hills apartments at the end of February. For the apartment building, throughout the month of February there were several apartment meetings. Several interpreters were required for these meetings, with languages ranging from Vietnamese, Russian, Spanish, Thai, Korean and French. As always, AML-Global aim to provide the highest professional interpreters in order to ensure the success of the project, this particular project was no different and was a huge triumph.

This month we have been extremely busy with pending translations, and were able to provide excellent service to the Los Angeles Unified School District. A career and technical education document needed to be translated from English into 8 languages; Armenian, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, Farsi, Korean, Russian, Spanish and Tagalog. The translated document was flawless and was turned around in an expedited basis.

American Language Services were also able to translate for Motor Parts of America; a company who aims to advance the auto industry with sustainable manufacturing processes and advanced quality engineering. The document needed to be translated from English into Spanish, Simplified Chinese and Malay. AML-Global was able to do an excellent job and the translation project went well.

Timely Tips

With interpreting assignments there are 2 different styles performed by the interpreters. This is either consecutive interpreting or simultaneous interpreting. Consecutive interpreting is when the interpreter waits for the speaker to finish either a sentence or an idea, and then is able to interpret into the target language. Whereas, simultaneous interpreting is when the participants typically wear headphones and the interpreter renders the speakers words into the target language as the designated speaking is talking. Simultaneous interpreting customarily requires 2 interpreters, due to the level of skill and concentration needed to ensure the interpretation is accurate whereas consecutive interpreting requires only 1 interpreter.
