March, named after Mars; the Roman God of War, is a busy month for all including American Language Services (AML-Global). Spring is officially here, hello warmer weather! With St. Patrick’s Day, Spring Break and the March Equinox; where the sun shines directly on the equator and the length of the night and day are nearly equal, been and gone we have all the joys of April to look forward to.
Historical Tidbits in March
Some interesting historical tidbits that occurred in March: President Franklin D. Roosevelt took office and delivered his first inaugural address on March 4, 1933, The Lend-Lease program began allowing Britain to receive American weapons, machines, raw materials and training and repair services on March 11, 1941 and on March 15, 44BC Julius Caesar was assassinated in the Senate Chamber in Rome by Brutus and fellow conspirators.

Albert Einstein who developed the theory of relativity shares his March 14, birthday with Michael Caine, both Aretha Franklin and Elton John celebrate on March 25, alongside March being the birth month of both Eva Mendes and Eva Longoria with Mendes on the 5th and Longoria on the 15th… Happy birthday to all of you who have March birthdays! March is a time for celebrating, at American Language Services we have been celebrating the success we have had with our recent projects.
Interesting Interpreting & Translation Projects Completed in March
We recently completed a job for Nucerity, a skincare and dermatology company in Houston, Texas, for an international distribution conference over a 2 day time period. We supplied several Spanish interpreters, portable headsets and transmitters, sound reduction booths and onsite technical support. The project went flawlessly.
In March, we also finalized a very interesting project with NBC Universal Orlando. NBC Universal Orlando is a resort for the entire family; it has two theme parks with many different attractions. This job took place over a 5 day span in the Orlando resort. We provided them with Japanese interpreters for a finance meeting. The project went off without a hitch.
Voice-Over Project with Several Languages
We completed a very exciting project for Trevo Corporate; a nutritional supplement with a formula designed to restore, renew and revive your body. The project involved French, German and Japanese Voice-Over as well as recording and script edits, post-production interpretation and studio time & translation. The job was for a training video for a compensation plan. The project was a huge success.
