May celebrates a number of themes of both important and frivolous. The more important ones are labor day, National Nurses’ Day, Cinco De Mayo, and the frivolous ones are plentiful such as Hug Your Cat Day, Star Wars Day, Bike to Work Day, and No Tobacco Day’ and many more.’ In some countries, May Day is known as International Worker’s Day. ‘In the US, it is known as Labor Day and is celebrated on September instead of May.’ During the year 1886, many labor unions went on a strike to protest that the standard workday be reduced to 8 hours. Even though the protest was not immediately effective, it was successful later on and the 8 hour work day was established.

Labor Day not only represents a 3 day weekend, but also the significant changes that arose from this movement, that is, the eradication of child labor, safety standards for all workers, and medical leave, maternity leave, and many other significant achievements. Sometime back, Baker & McKenzie LLP requested a Spanish interpreter for 2 days for an arbitration hearing. We arranged the meeting on very short notice, and our client was very happy with the service.
Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP is another prestigious and prominent law firm based in New York City and has 23 offices in different locations around the world. It conducts about 71 legal practice areas, some of which are mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance, litigation, trusts and estates etc. A few weeks ago they requested a Japanese interpreter for an important 5 day client meeting in regards to a patent case. We were successfully able to fulfill their specialized request and the client was very pleased with the outcome.
We get interpreting requests for Asian and Middle Eastern languages regularly. We filled a job for the US Department of Justice who requested a Sindhi phone interpreter for an hour. Sindhi is the official language of India and Pakistan. Some months ago, they requested an Arabic interpreter for a 4 hour meeting. In addition to the languages listed above, we also provide interpreting in American Sign Language (ASL), Farsi, Chinese (Mandarin), Punjabi, Greek, Gujarati, Ilocano and Hmong to name a few.

They requested a Mandarin interpreter for 3 days of depositions relating to a product liability case.
