Martin Luther King Day

In January, an important and very meaningful national holiday takes place, Martin Luther King Day. Martin Luther King (MLK) was the legendary African American civil rights leader who believed in equality for all. He believed that all people had the right to be judged, not by the color of their skin, religion, race, ethnicity or sexual orientation, but by their deeds and the content of their character.

He had the courage to do this through non-violent, but proactive means of civil disobedience. Interestingly, MLK learned much of this philosophy from another legendary world leader, Mahatma Gandhi of India; who used similar methodology to help India gain Independence from English in the late 1940’s.

Both of these fabulous leaders were assassinated for their beliefs and for their unwavering support of equality. Their legacy lives on. In the United States, MLK’s legacy has only grown stronger throughout the years. We, at American Language Services, salute MLK and support his beliefs that everyone should have a fair chance to prove themselves and not be judged by superficial means.
American Language Services does their small share to ensure that everyone has a fair opportunity by bridging the communication gap between people who speak and write a wide variety of different languages from all races, religions and ethnic backgrounds. We do this by offering comprehensive and affordable services.

To illustrate this, we recently completed a translation for ‘Schools Without Walls’. The translation we provided were personal documents for Chinese prospective students who were applying to work with a very reputable non-profit organization. We translated Simplified Chinese to English to assist in the application process. Another interesting project we recently completed was for Handicap International. This organization assists handicapped individuals throughout the world who are stricken by natural and manmade disasters. We provided French interpreting, equipment, and technical support for a 5-day conference in Maryland. The conference went smoothly and was a big success.

American Language Services is a proud provider of voice over, translation, interpretation, transcription and media services to private industry, government at all levels, and educational and non-profit organizations. Our thousands of linguists around the world and teams of dedicated professionals are ready to serve.
