Some Interesting Translation, Interpreting, & Media Projects Completed in September
September was a month full of interesting and challenging projects. Our departments worked hard on handling each project smoothly and effectively. We are very pleased to have helped many different companies and individuals with their requests. If it’s important to them, then it’s important to us!
nu Jurusan Tarjamahan did an outstanding job translating and Desktop publishing a 41,400 words Disaster Response Booklet document into Cebuano, Chuukese, Kosraean, Marshallese, Tongan and Lao for a major translations company in the U.S. We translated and certified a 6,577-word Release Document from English into EU French for an international TV production and distribution group. We also translated an English into Hindi document 3,301 word Inter Care document for one of the best nationally ranked Universities.
The team also translated from English into Brazilian-Portuguese a 22,042 words Advocacy Program Document for a renamed nursing company in the U.S. dedicated to the advancement of knowledge, teaching, learning, and service. And another project was the translation of a 23,217 words Employee Handbook from English into Spanish for a company that provides spring and wire form solutions trusted by world-class companies that are leaders in their markets.
nu Jurusan Alih Basa completedmany unique interesting projects, such as Ukrainian interpretation and equipment rental for an exhibit of a freelance filmmaking company that helps bring visual media to attract, encourage, and provide business. We provided American Sign Language (ASL) interpretation over 3 days for a big conference that took place in San Francisco CA, which was planned by a national meeting planner and hosted by a global video agency. We completed another ASL virtual interpretation project for 2 days at a conference. This was to introduce and motivate a health organization that promotes access to effective, accountable, and compassionate care for people with mental illnesses and substance use disorders.
Our team was also present in Mexico City, providing Spanish interpretation services and equipment rental for a conference from a renamed international agency of brand movements. We provided Japanese interpretation in a very delicate inspection for an important provider of glass to one of the most important car manufacturers in the world.
Our company also provided CART services for 2 consecutive days at a conference for a Los Angeles non-profit organization working to make a difference in our communities and around the world, improving the quality of life for all southern Californians. And lastly, we provided ASL interpretation and CART services for an annual fall meeting for a U.S. Democratic Committee.
The Month of September
September is the first month of fall in the northern half of the world and the first month of spring in the southern half. It is the ninth month in the Gregorian calendar and has 30 days, it also marks the star of the academic year in many countries, it means time for back to school, so get ready! September’s history is kind of curious, as Séptém in Latin means seven, so, why isn’t the seventh month called September? The Old Roman calendar started in March, making September the seventh month but when the Roman senate changed the calendar in 153 BCE, the new year started in January, and that is why September became the ninth month.
This month holds an impressive number of important holidays, for example, September 5 (2022) was Labor Day in the United States, celebrated on the first Monday of September, it became a federal holiday in 1894 to add a holiday in the long gap between Independence Day in July and Thanksgiving in November. We are very thankful for this; many families use this long weekend to have a fun last summer trip! On and international view, September 10 holds the Mid-Autumn Festival in China, also known as Moon festival! One of the most important celebrations in the Chinese calendar, second only to the Chinese New Year. All over China, people make lanterns and enjoy moon cakes, exchange gifts, and celebrate the Full Moon.
Fun and interesting holidays are also celebrated around this month of the year, some of them are September 4th, The National Macadamia Nut Day, September 5th, the National Cheese Pizza Day or the National Be Late for Something Day, September 21st the National Alzheimer’s Day, or September 30th Save the Koala Day. Historical events are very important too, to name just some of the ones that took place in this month are September 1, 1752, when the Liberty Bell arrived in Philadelphia, September 9, 1776, when the Congress of the U.S. officially changed the name of the nation from United Colonies to The United States of America. Or September 24, 1493, when Christopher Columbus set sail on his second expedition to the New World. We also celebrate September 17, Constitution Day, that celebrates the adoption of the U.S. Constitution.
September this year was filled with events that will leave a mark in history, to name one of them, the passing away of Queen Elizabeth II. Her Majesty died at 3:10 pm U.K. time (10:10 am ET) on September 8 at Balmoral Castle in Ballater, Scotland. Britain’s longest-reigning monarch died peacefully aged 96. King Charles III, who ascended the throne following his mother’s death, was formally proclaimed as the United Kingdom’s new monarch on September 10.

He is one of the most popular writes of contemporary horror, suspense and science fiction, Stephen king has published over 50 novels and penned hundreds of short stories. He is best known for writing the horror novel “It”, he is undoubtedly one of the most loved horror writers whose writings never fail to incite fear, terror, and fright in the minds of the readers. A highly prolific writer and winner of multiple awards including the prestigious Bram Stoker Awards. His first published novel was “Carrie” which was so successful that it led to several film and Broadway adaptions.
September 14, 1983, Amy Winehouse:
Amy was a talented singer -songwriter who won five Grammy Awards for her album “Back to black”. Her most famous album unfortunately became the last album released during her lifetime before her life was tragically cut short by an accidental overdose of alcohol. She loved singing so much that she would sing even during classes, much to the chagrin of the teachers. She started playing the guitar at 13 and soon started writing her own music, her album “Back to black” was nominated for 6 Grammy Awards and won five.
September 13, 1983, Roald Dahl:
Dahl was a British novelist, poet, screenwriter, short-story writer, and wartime fighter pilot. He became a prominent author, penning amazing and humorous stories for children after his flourishing career in the “Royal Air Force” ended due to head injuries. With his short stories being ranked among the world’s best-selling fiction books, he is often considered one of the greatest children’s storytellers of the 20th century. His books have been published in over 60 languages across de world. Many of his publications such as “Matilda” and “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory” have been made into successful films and musical stage plays.
September 22, 1983, Andrea Bocelli:
Andrea Angel Bocelli is an Italian tenor and singer whos’ music covers the genres of both pop and classical styles, he is the creator of nine complex operas and is well-known for his highly successful cross-over performance with several albums. Blesses with a timbre that is full, powerful, and versatile, he can effortlessly render with the same perfection a sacred hymn or a pop song. He had been born with poor vision and completely lost his sight after a football accident when he was 12. Even though this incident represented a tragic nature, it was also what instilled in him a special kind of sensitivity and added depth to his personality which is often reflected in the music. Bocelli has sold over eighty million records worldwide and was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Original Song for “The Prayer”, his duet with Celine Dion.
