Pipiri 2022

June 1, 1926- Marilyn Monroe was an American actress singer and model. In the 1950’s, she became an influent and an important feminine symbol. She also became the second woman in the North American history to own a production company. However, her death brought a lot of questions on whether it was a passionate crime, a suicide, or an overdose. While it remains a mystery that will never be solved, Marilyn will always be a major cultural icon.

June 12, 1929- Anne Frank was native of Germany. During World War II, she had plans to run away from her native country to go to the Netherlands. As a Jew, Anne had to hide in a secret attic in the apartment in which she was living with her parents. During this time, she started detailing her experiences in a diary. In the present, these very same journal entries are now published. It is truly fascinating to read about the thoughts and feelings she experienced at the time and to have the opportunity to learn about this time in history through the lens of a 13-year-old.

June 18, 1942- Paul McCartney was a singer in one of the most legendary British boy bands the world has ever known. If you have heard about the Beatles, you’ll know who Paul McCartney is without a doubt!  In 1970, when the group disbanded, he started a solo career and remained notable for his song writing abilities. To this day, he still continues to play and enjoy making music.
