Chronologically speaking, the first great revolution in the United States occurred in 1773 and is known as the Boston Tea Party when the colonialist revolted against the British Monarchy dumping 342 containers of expensive tea into the water. The ratification of the 13th Amendment was signed which led to the Abolition of the Slavery. In 1865 that represented a huge battle for black people’s rights that was continued through the years. In 1955, Rosa Parks a common African American woman sat down and refused to give up her seat on a bus to a white passenger, she was arrested for disobeying an Alabama law. This arrest lead to the 1956 Supreme Court decision of banning segregation on public transportation.

This month also brought us events that had a great impact in our present day such as the first heart implant that developed until nowadays, making possible for people with heart problems to survive and live for many years. It also brought us the 41st anniversary of the assassination of John Lennon, the founding member of the Beatles who always fought against violence and struggled for peace. We all can remember this theme through his famous song “Imagine”. Still nowadays Lennon remains an emblem for peace and love around the world.
